Dormir contre vents et marées

Il est désormais possible de passer nuit sur l’eau sans pour autant investir dans un voilier ou un yacht. Si vous passez vos vacances en Suède, je vous invite à faire un détour par le Salt & Sill: un hôtel flottant !

N’ayez crainte, vous n’êtes pas non plus en pleine mer, les nombreux bungalows indépendants sont arrimés aux quai. Ce concept qui me fascine à été développé en 2008 par Susanne et Patrick Hermasson, deux amoureux de la mer et désireux de faire découvrir l’Ile de Klädesholmen. Construits sur une ile voisine ces bungalows ont été transportés jusqu’à leur lieu d’amarage par bateau. Il est possible de les louer en tant que particulier ou bien pour un séminaire d’entreprise (effet garanti !). La décoration n’est pas en reste : plancher en granit, mobilier en bois, on est tout de suite dans une ambiance épurée mais réconfortante. Coté équipements, le sauna flottant est fortement recommandé (culture oblige) ; Copie miniature de l’hôtel, il est posé sur un catamaran qui peut atteindre une vitesse de 15 Noeuds. Vous pouvez aussi le demander pour la suite nuptiale.

Bref, j’espère pouvoir faire un voyage en Suède dans les prochains mois pour découvrir cette petite merveille. En attendant, si vous y allez avant moi, j’attends vos impressions.

The lullaby of the wind and the waves
It is now possible to spend the night on the water without investing in a boat or a yacht. If you are holidaying in Sweden, I urge you to make a detour via the Salt & Sill: a floating hotel!
Not to worry though, you won’t find yourself floating in the middle of the ocean. The hotel is in fact a series of independent bungalows secured to the quayside. This concept, which I find fascinating, was developed in 2008 by Susanne and Patrick Hermasson, a couple who loves the sea and wanted to encourage people to discover Klädesholmen Island. These bungalows were built on a neighbouring island and were transported to their resting place by boat. They can be rented by private clients or for a corporate seminar (sure to impress!). The décor is fittingly special too: granite floors, wooden furniture, you are immediately plunged into an uncluttered and comforting atmosphere. In terms of facilities, the floating sauna is highly recommended (a must in these parts of the world); resembling a mini version of the hotel, it is found on a catamaran that can get up to a speed of 15 Knots. You can also book this catamaran as a honeymoon suite.
All in all, I hope to travel to Sweden in the coming months to discover this gem of a hotel. In the meantime, if you get there before me, let me know what you think.
