Dans ma rubrique « Hôtels insolites« , j’avais déjà évoqué les plus petits hôtels du monde. Aujourd’hui, je vous propose le plus vieil hôtel du monde. Il s’agit du Hoshi Ryokan, une auberge familiale qui s’avère être également la plus ancienne entreprise au monde. Quel âge a t-elle me demanderez vous impatients ? Sachez qu’elle a été créée en 717 ! Les 1296 années d’existence de l’hôtel n’en font pas un vieil établissement dénué de charme pour autant. Bien au contraire ! En effet, tradition et ravissement ne sont pas antinomiques. Ce ryokan (auberge en japonais) d’une centaine de chambres est plein de charme. Elle le doit à une achitecture et un cadre très typique (tatamis, futons, repas traidtionnels, etc.). De plus, le spa naturel et sa source d’eau chaude (onsen) en font un lieu très prisé.
Le Hoshi ryokan, appartenant à la 46ème génération de Hoshi, est situé dans la ville de Komatsu, à quelques heures de Kyoto, d’Osaka et de Tokyo.

This is the Hoshi Ryokan, a family-run inn which also claims to be the oldest company in the world. Want to know how old it is? Well, it was founded in 717! Although it has existed for 1296 years, the hotel has not been stripped of its charm. On the contrary! Tradition and delight need not be contradictory. This ryokan (‘inn’ in Japanese) has around a hundred rooms, all packed with charm. This is largely down to the hotel’s very typical architecture and ambiance (tatamis, futons, traditional meals, etc.). In addition, the natural spa and hot spring (onsen) makes it a highly sought after location.
