Le projet de nouvelle émission de télé réalité « Hôtel VIP » sur TF1 semble avancer même si, actuellement, c’est plutôt motus et bouche cousue du côté de la chaîne… Voilà de quoi il s’agirait : 12 célébrités (Loana, entre autres ?) se mettraient en scène dans un hôtel de luxe pour dorloter des anonymes du matin au soir : ménage, réception, cuisine… Un jury de téléspectateurs et de professionnels de l’hôtellerie éliminerait, chaque semaine, la personnalité la moins performante. Produite par la société Adventure Line Productions (Koh-Lanta, Fort Boyard…), cette émission aurait la forme d’un jeu quotidien, du genre « la ferme célébrités » ou « la 1ère compagnie ». On devine bien que cette initiative permettrait à TF1 de trouver un programme de substitution face à l’arrêt de “L’île de la Tentation” et à l’éventuelle suspension prochaine de la “Star Academy”. Reste à savoir si TF1 trouvera 12 célébrités pour y participer…

En tant que professionnel de l’hôtellerie, je trouve l’idée plutôt amusante sous réserve que le souci de l’excellence de la profession ne soit pas caricaturé en foire médiatico-quotidienne à la gaudriole et au mauvais goût. Je me demande, d’ailleurs, si un contre jury, vraiment indépendant, ne serait pas bienvenu pour mettre les points sur les « i » en cas de dérapages excessifs. Nous n’en sommes, cependant, pas là, car rien n’est encore signé. LittleBigProd, par exemple, « s’étonnait », il y a peu, qu’un tel projet puisse aboutir alors que son Celebrity Palace, au concept quasi identique, avait été catégoriquement refusé par TF1, il y a quelques temps. Bizarre, bizarre… D’ici à ce que tout le monde se crêpe le chignon dans les contre allées de la TV réalité, il n’y aurait qu’un pas. Donc, wait and see ! Et en attendant, voici ce que les Irlandais ont déjà fait :

A VIP Hotel reality show?
The plans afoot to develop a new reality TV show called ‘Hôtel VIP’ on TF1 seem to be progressing even if, at the moment, the channel is being very secretive about the project… The concept is as follows: 12 ‘celebrities’ (possibly including former reality contestant Loana, amongst others?) will be strutting their stuff in a luxury hotel where their job will be to look after real guests from morning to night, doing the cleaning and cooking, working at reception, and so on. Each week a jury of television viewers and hospitality professionals will evict the least efficient contestant. This reality show, produced by Adventure Line Productions (the company that produces Koh-Lanta, Fort Boyard, etc.), will be broadcast daily like the French versions of reality shows The Farm and Boot Camp. It seems very likely that the idea for TF1 is to find a replacement after the scrapping of the French version of Temptation Island and the potential suspension of Star Academy. It only remains to be seen whether TF1 will find 12 celebrities willing to take part in it…
As an hotelier, I find the idea quite amusing provided that it does not caricature the excellence of the profession and turn it into a bad joke. In fact, I wonder if it would not be worth having a genuinely independent ‘counter-jury’ to set the record straight in case of really hideous blunders. But we are not there yet because nothing has been signed so far. LittleBigProd, for example, recently announced its astonishment that such a project could even be on the cards after its almost identical concept called Celebrity Palace was categorically refused by TF1 not long ago. Bizarre, bizarre… It seems that we are not far away from seeing some real cat-fights in the wings of reality TV production. Anyway, we will just have to wait and see!
