Hôtels Insolites : Un hôtel dans un boeing ?

Dormir dans un avion ? Jusque-là vous me dites : « rien d’anormal » et pourtant c’est le projet (et le fonds de commerce) d’Oscar Dïos, un suédois qui a transformé un Boeing 747 en Hôtel. Deux ans après le rachat de l’appareil et quelques heures de travaux, l’hôtel ouvre ses portes en 2009 sur le tarmac de l’aéroport d’Arlanda (Suède). Baptisé Jumbo hôtel, il vous propose de passer la nuit dans l’une des vingt-cinq chambres spécialement aménagées pour les amateurs d’aviation.

Comble du luxe, il est même possible de louer la suite panoramique avec vue sur le trafic aérien dans l’ancien cockpit de l’appareil. Et pour être sûr de ne pas échapper à l’histoire de l’aviation, l’hôtelier a conservé une partie de l’avion en l’état pour se rappeler l’époque pendant laquelle l’appareil fendait l’air pour Singapore Airlines.

Avis aux amateurs d’aviation et d’hôtels insolites, vous dormirez mieux dans cet avion que dans n’importe quel business class Paris – New-York.

Sleeping in an airplane? So far you say to me: « nothing particularly out of the ordinary » and yet this is the project (and business) of the Swede Oscar Dïos who has transformed a Boeing 747 into a Hotel. Two years after purchasing the plane and quite a few hours of work later, the hotel opened its doors in 2009 on the tarmac of Arlanda airport in Sweden. It is called the Jumbo hotel and gives fans of aviation the chance to spend the night in one of the twenty five rooms.
The height of luxury is clearly the panoramic suite in the plan’s former cockpit with its unbeatable view of the perpetual ballet of air traffic. And so that the guests do not to miss out on the slightest detail of aviation history, the owner has kept part of the plane in its original state in memory of when the craft soared through the air for Singapore Airlines.
And one thing is certain for those of you who love aviation and extraordinary hotels… you will sleep better in this plane than during any Paris-New York business class flight.
