Ou comment dépoussiérer le genre en conservant l’Art et les techniques ? En 2010, Carole Georges, alors Directrice Artistique en agence de publicité, et Jean-François Dumont qui oeuvre au Ministère du Travail, quittent Paris pour reprendre cette Manufacture française fondée en 1898. L’affaire familiale, qui, depuis quatre générations, s’inscrit dans la pure tradition de la Faïence de Nevers, trouve rapidement un nouveau souffle grâce à leurs actions combinées.
Les étagères et les registre contenant moules et décors vieux d’un siècle voient arriver nouvelles formes et ornements. Le couple en émulation artistique constante, collabore également avec d’autres créateurs sur des projets nourrissant leur relation étroite avec l’Art Contemporain. De Nevers à Paris, de Paris à New York, chaque pièce fabriquée est une oeuvre unique, façonnée par Monsieur et décorée par Madame… Neuf créations uniques, fruits de cette fructueuse collaboration, sont exposées sur les murs de l’Épicerie.

In 2010, Carole Georges, then Artistic Director for a marketing agency, and Jean-François Dumont, who worked for the Ministry of Employment, left Paris behind to take over this French factory, founded back in 1898. They soon breathed new life into the family business, which for over four generations had never strayed from the traditional Nevers manufactory methods. The shelves and register, which had previously held century-old moulds and decorations, began to fill up with new shapes and ornaments. Working in constant artistic emulation, the pair also collaborate with other creators on projects that fuel their close relationship with contemporary art. From Nevers to Paris and from Paris to New York, each of the pieces they produce is unique, moulded by him and decorated by her… Nine unique works borne of this fruitful collaboration will be on show on the walls of the delicatessen.
