Charléty est un stade parisien mythique. Ce complexe omnisport du 13ème arrondissement de Paris accueille différents clubs sportifs : le Paris FC, club de football de National, le Paris Volley, club évoluant en Ligue A, le PUC (Paris Université Club), premier résident du stade et la section féminine du PSG. En attendant la livraison de son nouveau terrain, le Stade Français a également élu domicile à Charléty.
L’histoire de Charléty est marquée par de nombreux évènements et meetings d’athlétisme. Le prochain sera les championnat de France qui auront lieu en juillet 2013. La Fédération Française d’Athlétisme ainsi que le Comité National Olympique et Sportif Français jouxtent le stade.
Construit en 1939, le stade a subi une première transformation en 1945 avec la construction de divers équipements (gradins, courts de tennis, etc.). En 1989, il est détruit puis reconstruit pour redevenir le grand stade qu’il a été. Le stade peut actuellement accueillir 20 000 spectateurs.
Au niveau extra-sportif, le meeting géant du 27 mai 1968, regroupant diverses organisations de gauche et qui a rassemblé plus de 30 000 personnes, est également un évènement majeur de l’histoire de Charléty.

Charléty is a mythical Parisian stadium. This sports complex located in Paris’ 13th arrondissement is the home to different sports clubs: the Paris FC, a football club which plays in the French Championnat de National, the Paris Volley, a club which plays in League A, the PUC (Paris Université Club), the stadium’s oldest resident and PSG football club’s women’s team. The Stade Français has also taken up residence there, until its new ground is ready.
Charléty’s history has been influenced by many athletic events and meetings. The next one will be the French Championships, taking place in July 2013. The “Fédération Française d’Athlétisme” (French Athletics Federation) as well as the “Comité National Olympique et Sportif Français” (the French Olympic Committee) are situated next to the stadium.
The stadium was built in 1939 and underwent a first transformation in 1945 with the construction of a variety of facilities (stands, tennis courts, etc.) In 1989 it was demolished and rebuilt to become the renowned stadium of the era. CurrentIy it plays host to 20, 000 spectators.
As for other events, the huge meeting held on 27 May 1968, grouping together various left-wing organisations, which assembled more than 30,000 people, was also a major event in Charléty’s history.
