Protéiforme, on ne l’attend jamais là où il nous emmène, Marc J. Pasini par accumulation de matières, d’idées, de pensées, à décidé d’ajouter une dimension supplémentaire à ses œuvres, le son. De cette idée est né le concept d’une «Quatrième dimension », par une nouvelle ouverture à l’espace, une harmonie qui bouscule les règles de la tradition, le goût, la couleur, la trajectoire, la forme, le son… tout est mêlé et chacun, à sa grande joie, y perçoit un aspect inconnu de son ciel étoilé.

Rencontre avec M.J Pasini
« Le hasard est souvent révélateur de rencontres, comme la première fois où j’ai entendu le son s’échappant du bois de résonnance, cette forme carrée légèrement galbée qui ne ressemblait en rien à ce que je connaissais. L’instrument délivrait un son inattendu par son amplitude et sa pureté. Je rêvais depuis longtemps de jouer avec le son, étant musicien moi-même, ajouter une dimension à mes œuvres, marier l’ouïe et la vue, les associer, permettre à ma création d’être unique et de partager le travail de luthier de Jean-Michel Capt a été un plaisir. Les œuvres de la collection Art et Son esthétiquement et musicalement modifient à jamais l’endroit où elles se trouvent, elles changent aussi notre manière d’entendre et de voir. Sa biographie
Dans son parcours multiple, l’artiste respecte une constante, par une exploration d’une écriture spécifique l’ exigence du détail, la recherche de la pureté, à travers le dessin, la peinture et la photographie.
Marc J. Pasini, artiste, créateur, avec l’architecture pour formation, en passant par l’École du Louvre, il a d’abord acquis une réputation internationale pour son expertise en imagerie 3D et en images virtuelles hyperréalistes. Passionné d’art graphique, dessinateur aguerri, photographe, il opte très vite pour l’hyperréalisme « animé ».
Il découvre le havane en 1998 : le point de départ d’une nouvelle vie. En 2000 il quitte le monde de l’entreprise pour celui de l’art. Après 11 ans et quelques 200 œuvres, il est porté au grade de Chevalier des Arts et des lettres en Juin 2010.
Dans le cadre du Ve festival del Habano, pour la première fois dans l’histoire de Cuba et des postes de ce pays, un artiste étranger est choisi pour la création de timbre. La poste et les plus hautes instances de Cuba ont choisi six œuvres de Marc J.Pasini pour devenir les six nouveaux timbres de Cuba sur le Havane qui ont été mis en service les 25,26,27,28 février et 1er mars 2002.
« L’art de Marc J. Pasini représente une révolution dans la peinture illustrée du cigare havanais. Il n’y avait pas eu, depuis l’âge d’or de l’Imprimerie lithographie havanaise (1827-1874), un testament aussi parlant quant à l’illustration de l’art des amateurs du cigare. Dans ces images séduisantes, l’artiste rend hommage au monde riche et complexe du cigare, tout en évoquant le tableau de l’histoire colorée de Cuba. La magie de l’art de Marc J. The multi-talented Marc J. Pasini is constantly surprising us and has decided, after accumulating materials, ideas and thoughts, to add a new dimension to his work: sound. This idea brought forth the concept of a « fourth dimension » through a new approach to space, a type of harmony which challenges traditional rules. « Chance often leads us to encounters, just like the first time I heard the sound produced by tonewood, this square, slightly curved design which was unlike anything I had seen before. The pureness and range of the sound produced was quite unexpected. As a musician myself, I’d been dreaming of incorporating sound for a long time and it was a real pleasure to add a new dimension to my work, to bring together sight and sound, to associate them, to make my creations unique and to share the work of the stringed instrument maker, Jean-Michel Capt. The pieces in the Art and Sound collection change the place where they appear both aesthetically and musically for evermore, and also the way in which we listen and see. They give a new intensity to our pleasures.”
His biography
Throughout his numerous quests, Pasini has always respected a constant demand for detail, looking for pureness, exploring a specific means of expression through drawing, painting and photography.
An artist, creator, architect by training and student at the École du Louvre, Marc J. Pasini first acquired an international reputation for his expertise in 3-D imagery and hyper-realistic, virtual images. As a graphic art enthusiast, a seasoned illustrator and photographer, he quickly opted to work on « animated » hyperrealism.
In 1998 he discovered Havana cigars which marked the beginning of a new life. He left the world of business in 2000 to go into art. Eleven years and some 200 works later he was admitted as a knight to the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in June 2010.
As part of the 5th Habano Festival and for the first time in Cuban history, and that of its post offices, a foreign artist was chosen to design stamps. The Cuban post office and the country’s highest authorities chose 6 works by Marc J. Pasini to become Cuba’s six new Havana stamps, which were launched on 25, 26, 27, 28 February and 1March 2002.
« Marc J. Pasini’s work represents a revolution in terms of illustrated paintings of the Havana cigar. There hasn’t been such a meaningful legacy to illustrate the art of cigar lovers since the golden age of lithographic printing in Havana (1827 – 1874). Through these captivating images, the artist pays tribute to the vast and complex world of cigars whilst bringing to mind Cuba’s colourful history. The magic of Marc J.
