I am sure you are familiar with the film Sister Act (1992) starring Whoopi Goldberg. Years after the worldwide success of this film, it has been adapted and turned into a musical. After its undeniable success in London and on Broadway, it finally arrived in Paris in September 2012. Twenty years after the film, Deloris Van Cartier is back for a hilarious show combining humour and gospel.
A synopsis of the plot: after witnessing a murder, Deloris Van Cartier, a nightclub singer, needs protection. So she is placed by the police in a convent and is given the name Sister Marie-Clarence. As Dolores has a hard time fitting in at the convent, she ends up being put in charge of the choir…
The musical co-produced by Whoopi Goldberg herself is being hosted at the Théatre Mogador until 31 May 2013.
